I was born and raised in Portugal, and lived here all my life.

When I was young I always showed great interest for music, which eventually led me to learning music theory by myself at an early age. As a teenager, I dedicated myself for a couple of years to the classical guitar, taking classes from a famous Portuguese player. As I grew up (assuming I grew up at all) my tastes changed and I eventually switched over to the electric guitar, influenced by Satriani, Vai and rock music in general, and have not stopped playing since.

With the passing of the years I acquired knowledge in different areas of music making, learning how to use many of today's modern software and hardware.

My main purpose is to get out as many music has I can - Makeshift is just the first step in the process...

As for my playing and composing, I think of it as a non-linear approach to hard-rock instrumentals, since I have total disregard for traditional methods of song composing. In the end you might define the song as a set of verses and chorus with a solo here and there, but I never consider the structure as a composing method, I do what I find most suitable for a song. Eventually it does end up like a structured thing, which is good! I listen to many different styles of music, and maybe that influences my guitar playing... or not!

There's lots of faster players than me out there, but music is not about speed, it's about song crafting, and I hope that in the end my songs will please many ears.
